Nintendo Switch 2 PORTING SERVICES
Bring your PC, PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo Switch game to Nintendo Switch 2 with Magic Media’s game porting team. We have already ported UFO ROBOT GRENDIZER – The Feast of the Wolves to Nintendo Switch, and we bring that experience of hybrid hardware, docked and handheld performance and Nintendo’s requirements to its successor.
why port to switch 2
reach nintendo’s newest players
Nintendo Switch 2 has been on sale since June 2025. A port puts your game in front of the players who buy from Nintendo’s own store, at home on the TV and in handheld mode.
upgrade your switch release
Already on Nintendo Switch? A Nintendo Switch 2 Edition or an update can bring higher resolution, steadier frame rates and faster loading to the players who move to the new console, and keep an existing release selling.
more headroom than switch
Switch 2’s custom NVIDIA processor supports DLSS upscaling and hardware ray tracing, its 1080p screen runs at up to 120 Hz, and docked it outputs up to 4K. Games that were too heavy for the first Switch become realistic ports.
new ways to play
Joy-Con 2 controllers can work as a mouse in games that support it, which suits PC strategy, simulation and management games. We adapt controls and interface for handheld, docked and mouse play.
switch 2 porting services
Everything it takes to bring a game to Nintendo Switch 2: technical assessment, engine work, optimization, controls, QA and release support.
pc and console to switch 2
We bring PC, PlayStation and Xbox games to Switch 2 within its memory, CPU and GPU budgets: rendering, assets, streaming and loading reworked where the original assumed more powerful hardware.
switch to switch 2 upgrades
For games already on Nintendo Switch, we raise resolution and frame rate targets, update textures and effects, and make use of Switch 2’s features, as an upgrade of your existing release or a new version.
engine and toolchain updates
Unity, Unreal Engine or your own technology: we move projects to engine versions that support Nintendo Switch 2. We have upgraded engines mid-project before, a modified Unreal Engine 4 on Warhammer 40,000: Deathwatch and Unreal Engine 5.3 to 5.4 on Enotria: The Last Song.
rendering and upscaling
We set resolution and frame rate targets for docked and handheld play and build the graphics pipeline to hold them, with upscaling where it helps. On Enotria: The Last Song we integrated NVIDIA DLSS, Intel XeSS and AMD FSR.
controls, ui and mouse mode
Joy-Con 2, Pro Controller, touch screen and mouse controls: we remap input, resize interface and text for a handheld screen, and make sure menus work at TV distance and in handheld mode.
qa and release support
Performance in docked and handheld mode, stability, controls and Nintendo’s requirements are tested throughout, and we support the build through submission, launch and the patches after it.
nintendo switch porting case study
about ufo robot grendizer – the feast of the wolves
An action-adventure game based on Go Nagai’s Grendizer, first released in 2023 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Magic Media was tasked with porting it, a Unity title, to Nintendo Switch.
our porting work
We reworked the whole graphical pipeline, adjusted the fidelity of the visual assets and redesigned parts of the levels so the game runs at the frame rate Nintendo requires, both docked at 1080p and handheld at 720p. We also worked on the Japanese version of the game.
the challenges
This was not a port of minor adjustments: the Switch needed significant overhauls of rendering, assets and levels, and the work had to fit a six-month window.
what it means for switch 2
Switch 2 keeps the hybrid design: one build has to perform well docked and handheld, and pass Nintendo’s requirements. That is the work we did on Grendizer, now with far more hardware to work with.

Switch 2 porting questions
Yes. We port games from PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch to Nintendo Switch 2, in Unity, Unreal Engine and other engines. We start with a technical assessment of your code, assets and performance, then agree scope and schedule.
Yes. We ported UFO ROBOT GRENDIZER – The Feast of the Wolves to Nintendo Switch, reworking its graphical pipeline, assets and levels for docked and handheld play. Our other porting work includes Enotria: The Last Song and Warhammer 40,000: Deathwatch.
Yes. For a game already on Nintendo Switch we can raise its resolution and frame rate targets, improve textures and effects and add Switch 2 features such as mouse controls, as an update or a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
It depends on the game, its engine and how far it is from Switch 2’s performance budgets, so we give a schedule after the technical assessment. For reference, our Nintendo Switch port of UFO ROBOT GRENDIZER, which needed major graphical and level changes, was completed in six months.
The cost follows the scope: the size of the game, the engine work needed and how much optimization the target hardware requires. After a short technical assessment we send a porting quote with scope and schedule.
Yes. QA runs through the whole port: frame rate and stability in docked and handheld mode, controls, and Nintendo’s platform requirements, and we support the build through submission and after launch.
